Prep Baseball: Calvary downs St. Elizabeth

ST. ELIZABETH, Mo. - The Calvary Lutheran Lions defeated the St. Elizabeth Hornets 6-2 on Tuesday.

Beau Monson, Collin Bernskoetter, Ray Eickmeyer all had two hits with an RBI for the Lions. Hance Sommerer also drove in a run, while Jordan Duenckel scored twice.

Monson was the winning pitcher, allowing two runs (no earned) on six hits. He struck out six.

Tanner Wilde-Prenger had two hits and an RBI for the Hornets.

Mason Kemna was the losing pitcher. He pitched four innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out one.

Calvary (3-2) will serve as one of the hosts for the Calvary/New Bloomfield Tournament that starts Friday. The Lions open against Vienna at 5 p.m. at Calvary.

St. Elizabeth (1-6) will also play in the tournament, opening against Belle at 6 p.m. Friday at New Bloomfield.
