Georgia tops MU in SEC softball

ATHENS, Ga. - The Missouri Tigers gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Saturday and dropped a 6-4 decision to the Georgia Bulldogs in Southeastern Conference softball action.

Georgia scored three times in the third before Missouri tied it with two runs in the fourth and one in the sixth. The Tigers got their final run in the seventh.

Amanda Sanchez hit a two-run home run in that fourth inning for Missouri, her ninth round-tripper of the season. Missouri tied it on a Georgia error in the sixth.

Georgia pounded out six hits on its way to scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Sami Fagan singled home Emily Crane in the seventh for Missouri.

Cheyenne Baxter took the loss in relief.

Missouri (24-8, 6-5) and Georgia (30-10, 7-7) will wrap up their series today at 1 p.m. today.
