Construction for the Ross department store at Capital Mall is on schedule, said Rob Kingsbury of Farmer Holding Company.

The new Jefferson City store, to be located between the mall's Sears and JCPenney wings, will be 24,000 square feet once a 3,300-square-foot addition to the existing building has been constructed.

The construction, which began in mid-January, is set for completion by the end of August, which would be the target opening for the Ross store, Kingsbury said.
