Dear Editor:
George Laur's letter published March 26 has many statements but lacks supporting documentation. His one reference http://citizensclimatelobby.org is nothing but a leftist political blog.
He quotes a poll and other information which gives one the impression that there is overwhelming public support for addressing climate change. I call your readers attention to a March 25 article by Michael W. Chapman: "Gallup: Concern About Environment Down - Americans Worry Least About Global Warming" (http://cnsnews.com/node/902353). A quote from the article: "For "global warming or climate change," some 34 percent worried about it a "great deal" in 2014 but that went down to 32 percent in 2015."
I reference the following articles as evidence that climate change is a hoax being perpetrated on the American people for political reasons.
A March 25 article by Dr. Christopher Essex: "Climate Science Doubts: Not Because of Payment, but Because the Science Is Bad" (http://www.breitbart.com/london/2015/03/25/not-because-of-payment-but-because-the-science-is-so-damn-bad/). Quotes from the article: "Members of the Scientific Council of the Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF) recently criticized the Royal Society's positions on climate. Their clear, authoritative scientific objections to the Royal Society's positions reveal the weak scientific foundation on which the great climate fervor has been based. Scientists don't need to be paid to oppose the ideas of climate orthodoxy, because those ideas are just so damn bad."
A Jan. 3 Global Warming Policy Foundation paper written and endorsed by 13 experts: "Royal Society Misrepresents Climate Science" (http://www.thegwpf.org/royal-society-misrepresents-climate-science/). A quote from the article: "The briefing, entitled The Small Print: What the Royal Society left out, challenges claims made in the Royal Society's recently published Short Guide to Climate Science, and demonstrates how the Society has left out many important facts, caveats and doubts on subjects as varied as the causes of climate change, extreme weather and the role of the Sun."
The sole purpose of the climate change proponents is to create a worldwide taxing authority. Just imagine the power the EPA would have then! It's already out of control with regulations now in effect inhibiting our country's ability to produce food and consumable products!
