Annual bulky item pickups start April 20

Republic Waste/Allied Waste Services will collect large bulky items for disposal from residential customers during the weeks of April 20 and April 27.

Beginning at 5 a.m. April 20, collections will begin west of Jefferson Street. Collections east of Jefferson Street will begin on April 27 at 5 a.m.

Accepted items include: furniture, mattresses, large bulky items, televisions, microwaves, and tied bundles of scrap material under four feet in length.

Items that will not be picked up include: trash bags and/or boxes of debris, appliances, tires, yard waste, lumber or guttering over four feet in length, rocks, bricks, concrete, waste oil, car parts, acid batteries and loose piles of any materials. Regular household trash should be deposited in the blue carts for pick up on the usual collection day, as boxes and bags of trash will not be picked up.

Trash and recycling carts will be picked up on the usual collection day.

To dispose of household hazardous waste, please make an appointment with Jefferson City-Cole County Household Hazardous Waste Facility by calling 634-6410. Items are accepted by appointment only.

Jefferson City residents may dispose of their residential yard waste at 2417 Southridge Drive. The yard waste and compost facility is provided as a convenience to Jefferson City residents by the City of Jefferson through a contract with All Seasons Home and Garden.
