An Eldon man was identified Monday as the man believed to have robbed an Eldon convenience store early Sunday morning.
Zackory Shepherd, 22, is facing first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, second-degree assault, first-degree tampering, resisting arrest and unlawful use of a weapon charges.
Authorities said Shepherd robbed the Jiffy Stop, confronting a clerk with a handgun.
After failing to stop for officers who arrived on the scene, Shepherd led police on a high speed chase that ended when he crashed about two-miles from the store on Business 54 and fled on foot.
He was eventually taken into custody about a half mile from the crash scene.
