Blair Oaks falls in title game of softball tournament

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons came up just short of winning the title inthe UCM Tournament, losing 1-0 to Blue Springs South in the title game.

The game was scoreless until the seventh inning.

Payton Staggs allowed five hits and three walks and struck out two. Taylor Markway, Lauren Viessman and Karlie Reinkemeyer each had a hit for Blair Oaks.

The Lady Falcons started the day by winning their third game of the event, 10-0 against Warrensburg.

Staggs threw eight innings of two-hit ball, allowing one walk and striking out five.

Taylor Gehlert threw two innings, allowing no hits, walking two and striking out three.

Markway was 4-for-5, as was Jolie Duffner, who had two RBI.

Viessman went 3-for-4. Staggs had two hits and an RBI. Ashley Forck had two hits, including a three-run-home run, and four RBI.

Duffner and Forck were named to the all-tournament team.
