Softball: Vienna 5, Osage 4

VIENNA, Mo. - It wasn't your typical late-game rally, but it worked just fine.

With the softball game tied at 4 heading to the bottom of the seventh, the Vienna Lady Eagles took advantage of some wildness by the School of the Osage pitcher to pull out a 5-4 win Thursday night.

After the leadoff batter got hit by a pitch, Maddie Stricklan smacked a base hit. The next batter got hit by a pitch to load the bases before, improbably, another hit-batter brought home the winning run.

Stricklan got the win in the circle, throwing a six-hitter and striking out four while allowing just two earned runs.

Stricklan also contributed at the plate, as she had a team-high three hits. Courtney Falter added two hits and two RBI for the Lady Eagles, while Sloane Snodgrass chipped in with two hits.

Taylor Good took the loss for Osage, allowing 10 hits while striking out six.

Vienna, which improved to 6-3, will play Saturday in the Richland Tournament.

Vienna won the JV game 6-3 to improve to 8-0 on the season.
