Helias girls win title at Ray-Pec Invitational

PECULIAR, Mo. - The Helias Crusaders competed in the Ray-Pec Invitational, finishing first in the girls race and third in the boys.

The girls totaled 31 points to finish first. The Lady Crusaders were led by Kaitlyn Shea, Kayla Yanskey and Kylie Franks, who finished first, second and third, respectively. Abby Hake (11th), Kylie Mulholland (14th), Molly Light (16th) and Alicia Engelbrecht (18th) rounded out the Helias lineup.

The boys finished third with 114 points. Grain Valley was first with 29, and Smithville was the runner-up with 44. The Crusaders were led by Elliot Knersnschield and Thomas Asmar, who finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Nathan Wieberg (31st), Joe Bruemmer (40th), Ethan Rackers (41st), Jordan Wieberg (57th) and Trent Distler (66th) were the other runners for Helias.

Justin Frese (21st) was the top junior varsity finisher for Helias' boys. Maddie Casten (first) led the 12 Helias girls' junior varsity runners.
