ROLLA, Mo. - The Helias junior varsity team captured the title in the Rolla Doubles Tournament on Saturday, beating three varsity programs.
Helias ended up with 24 points, topping Willow Springs (22), Rolla (12) and Waynesville (12).
The Lady Crusaders won the title on the No. 2 court, as Liz Conley and Mary Alice Houser posted an 8-2 win against Waynesville before winning the championship match 8-4 against a team from Willow Springs.
At No. 3, Kayla Wolters and Kaitlyn Snyder beat Willow Springs 8-3 and Waynesville 8-4 to emerge victorious.
Anna Theroff and Maggie Jones won at No. 4, beating Rolla 8-1 before topping their teammates from Helias, Danielle Schrimpf and Haley Goldman, by a 9-7 score. Schrimpf and Goldman beat a Waynesville team 8-2 in the first round.
Helias will play Monday at Moberly.
