A Jefferson City man was listed in fair condition Friday evening at University Hospital, Columbia, after he was hurt in a two-vehicle accident early Friday afternoon.

Another man injured in that accident was admitted to St. Mary's Health Center, while the third person wasn't hospitalized.

Police said Steven Hagner, 47, was a passenger in a 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier that turned left from westbound U.S. 50-63 into westbound Missouri Boulevard, and was hit by an eastbound 2005 Ford Expedition.

Hagner was transferred to the Columbia hospital after first being treated locally.

Witnesses told police the Cavalier, driven by Paul N. Coulter, 69, Jefferson City, made the left turn in spite of a "solid red light."

Coulter was listed in stable condition Friday evening at St. Mary's.

Police said Michael W. Strait, 46, St. James - the Expedition driver - was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but neither St. Mary's nor Capital Region Medical Center had any information they could release about that treatment.

Police reported Strait was wearing a seat belt, but Coulter and Hagner were not.
