BizBeat: Kwik Kar Wash cleans up Missouri Boulevard property

The recently closed Tiger Express Wash on Jefferson City's Missouri Boulevard is being rinsed, polished and shined to reopen under new ownership next month.

The car wash will become a second location for Kwik Kar Wash & Detail, located on West Edgewood Drive, said owner Nick DeSimone, who purchased the property in early September.

"Our West Edgewood facility had been consistently growing over the last nine years," DeSimone said. "Secondly, the Missouri Boulevard location was going to allow us to grab additional customers; I don't think we were receiving the east-end customers as much."

DeSimone plans for the new location at 1510 Missouri Blvd. to be open for business in early November after completing significant improvements.

"We are trying to mimic as closely as possible the same wash experience as you receive on West Edgewood," DeSimone said. "We are currently installing a lot of new equipment and rehabbing some of the old stuff."

With some of the existing equipment as old as 20 years, the revamp is key to bringing the new location up to the same standard as the original Kwik Kar.

"The new equipment that we use is just more efficient," DeSimone explained. "It uses less energy, less water, less chemical and can actually produce a much better result than the old equipment."

While the original Kwik Kar Wash & Detail on West Edgewood offers express car washes as well as detailed interior services, the Missouri Boulevard facility will offer only express exterior services with vacuums available for free customer use.
