SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Four Helias tennis players earned Class 1 all-state honors Saturday.
Ashley Dowden and Mary Conley finished fifth and eighth overall, respectively, in singles, and Lauren Highfill and Abby Dowden finished eighth in doubles.
Ashley Dowden finished fifth with a 6-0, 6-1 defeat of Conley and a 0-6, 6-2, 7-5 win against Anna Rader of Springfield Catholic. After losing to Ashley Dowden, Conley fell to Chillicothe's Sydnie Whiteside 1-6, 2-6.
Highfill and Abby Dowden fell 6-0, 6-3 to a team from Logan-Rogersville and 6-1, 6-2 to a team from Notre Dame on Saturday.
