Juvenile in custody for robbery

A 16-year-old juvenile was taken into custody for a robbery that occurred Friday in Jefferson City.

Police reports show at about 9 p.m., a male entered the Bee Line Snack Shop, located at 1100 Missouri Boulevard, and pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanding money.

The suspect, who concealed part of his face with a scarf, threatened the clerk with what appeared to be a black semi-automatic pistol and was given money from the register by the clerk, who was unharmed.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot to a residence in the 1400 block of St. Mary's Boulevard.

Information was received as to the suspect's identity and shortly thereafter the suspect was located and detained by officers without further incident.

The juvenile was transported to the Prenger Family Center and is facing charges of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.

The pistol used in the robbery was a black air soft pistol and it was recovered after officers obtained a search warrant for the residence.
