Tigers roll past Redhawks

COLUMBIA - The Missouri Tigers put four players in double figures as they steamrolled to an 88-42 win against Southeast Missouri State on Monday night.

Bri Porter pumped in 18 points to lead the way for the Tigers, while Jordan Frericks was close behind with 17. Maddie Stock chipped in 11 points for Missouri, while Bree Fowler had 10.

Frericks also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.

Olivia Hackmann (Helias High School) scored eight points for the Redhawks (1-1). Hackmann, who pumped in 19 points in Southeast Missouri's season-opening 66-38 win against Alabama A&M, and also added five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal.

The game was tied only once, at 2, but the Redhawks were within 6-5 after the game's first five minutes.

That's when the Tigers put together a 14-0 run, capped by a 3-pointer by Fowler, to go up 20-5.

Missouri (2-0) eventually took a 44-15 lead into halftime and outscored Southeast Missouri 44-27 in the second half.

The Tigers shot 59 percent from the field (35-of-59), compared to just 24 percent (13-of-55) for the Redhawks.

The Tigers return to action at 8:30 p.m. Friday when they take on UNLV in their first game of the Wahine Classic in Honolulu.
