Suspect sought in JC armed robbery

A suspect is being sought in a Thursday night armed robbery in Jefferson City.

Police reports show that officers responded around 8:40 p.m. to the 1100 block of East Dunklin Street for a robbery that just had occurred.

The victim, a male student at Lincoln University, was walking back to the campus after leaving Breaktime on Clark Avenue when an unknown male grabbed him from behind and hit him over the head with a gun.

The suspect then put the gun to the male student's head and demanded his cell phone and wallet; the student complied.

There were two other suspects present, but they did not attack the student, police said. The student said he did not know the suspect, who fled on foot after the robbery.

Officers canvassed the area but could not immediately locate any evidence related to the crime, nor was the suspect located.

Police said the three suspects were black males; two were wearing dark hoodies, and the suspect with a gun was wearing a gray hoodie. The student did not require medical attention.

Anyone with any information about this case is urged to contact the Jefferson City Police Department at 573-634-6400, or to contact the Jefferson City Area CrimeStoppers at 659-TIPS.
