SPRINGFIELD - David Clausen of Jefferson City finished 1-2 at the Class 2 state singles tournament Friday.
Clausen started the event by losing his first round match to Jacob Kanter of Parkway Central 4-6, 2-6.
He then won his first round consolation match against Joplin's Luke Frogge 9-7, before falling to Cape Girardeau's Alexander Mailes 3-8 in the consolation quarterfinals.
Clausen finishes the season 23-9 in singles play.
