The defending state baseball champions move another step closer to renewing the team's Class 3 title.
Fatima (21-9) hosted Bishop LeBlond (16-8) in Wednesday's quarterfinal. Logan Vogel threw a three-hitter for the Comets in their 7-1 victory.
Fatima will play Springfield Catholic in the state semifinals at 4 p.m. Tuesday in O'Fallon. Fatima beat Springfield Catholic 2-0 in 8 innings for its 2013 state title.
