WAYNESVILLE - David Clausen of Jefferson City advanced to the Class 2 boys tennis singles tournament with a sectional victory Tuesday.
Clausen defeated Dalis Feemster of Springfield Hillcrest 6-2,6-2 to advance to the state tournament, scheduled for May 30-31 in Springfield.
Claussen is the first Jays player to advance to the individual state tournament since 2009.
