EUGENE, Mo. - Hunter Hennier hit a three-run home run Saturday afternoon for Fatima in its 6-2 victory against Eugene in the opening round of the Class 3 District 13 Tournament.
Will Robertson drove in two runs in the win for the Comets, while John Fick had two hits.
Reid Kesel pitched the first six innings to get the win. He allowed two earned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out four. Josh Holtschnieder pitched the seventh, recording a strikeout.
Fatima (17-9) , the defending Class 3 state champion, is the No. 2 seed in the district and will face third-seeded Southern Boone in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Monday. Southern Boone bested Versailles 7-1 in the first game Saturday.
