A local entrepreneur is ready to serve the public by way of a supplement store.
Jefferson City area resident Jason Varner opened Nspire Nutrition on May 8. The store, located at 310 Jefferson Street, is inspiring people to "live, breath, and act healthier."
Varner has worked in the health industry for more than 10 years. He was a personal trainer and worked at an area nutritional supplement store.
"This is just an opportunity to put my own spin on the industry and truly help people," Varner said. "That's what I want to do."
The store offers a variety of brands of protein and nutrition powders, vitamins, minerals, and protein bars.
Varner said he wanted to offer a variety of brands and is passionate about people's health, which he said is about more than the bottom dollar.
Nspire Nutrition is open to help people get more out of their diets and workouts.
"We're just one piece of the puzzle and want to help them in their process," the owner said.
The store will hold a ribbon cutting with the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday and is planning a grand opening celebration for the near future. Varner said he hopes to host classes or speakers to go along with the grand opening to help educate people on diet and exercise.
Varner recognized that getting healthy is a long road and that there is no miracle out there. "I like to see people taking steps. It takes work to live a healthy lifestyle."
The store is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
