Archer shines in win against Bunceton

NEW FRANKLIN, Mo. - Wyatt Archer twirled a one-hitter, giving up just a solo home run, as Calvary Lutheran thumped Bunceton 11-1 in six innings Friday to open Class 1 District 10 play.

Archer faced just one batter over the minimum, as no other Dragon reached base in the game.

Calvary, the third seed in the event, got contributions up and down the lineup against sixth-seeded Bunceton. Archer, Gavin Nutt and Beau Monson had one hit and two RBI apiece, while Hance Sommerer and Trevor Dusheke had one hit and RBI each. Colin Bernskoetter chipped in with a pair of hits.

The Lions (14-5) will take on second-seeded Pilot Grove at 7 p.m. Monday in the district semifinals.
