Blair Oaks rolls past California

CALIFORNIA - Brent Heckemeyer was 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI as the Blair Oaks Falcons rolled to a 10-1 win against California on Thursday.

Blair Oaks had eight hits, while four pitchers combined to allow four hits and record nine strikeouts for the Falcons, who wrapped up the regular season with a 21-8 record.

Logan Gratz was 2-for-3, while Alex Verhoff was 1-for-2 with three RBI to help lead Blair Oaks at the plate. Hayden Haney and Seth Eskens both drove in a run for the Falcons.

Collin Luebbering picked up the win after allowing one run on four hits, while striking out three and walking two in four innings.

Cody Stegemann, Bryce Pritchett and Shintaro Hatashima all threw an inning without giving up a run. Stegemann allowed a hit and struck out three, while Pritchett recorded one strikeout and Hatashima pitched a perfect seventh inning, striking out two.

Blair Oaks earned the No. 1 seed in the Class 3 District 13 Tournament and will play the winner of No. 4 South Callaway and No. 5 Warsaw in a semifinal game at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Eugene.
