Ridle wraps up rookie season

Former Lincoln University standout Cedric Ridle Jr. recently wrapped up his rookie season with the Chicago Tide, a Premier Basketball League team.

Ridle, who scored 1,225 points in his three seasons with the Blue Tigers, was the runner-up for the league's 2014 Rookie of the Year award.

In his first season with the Tide, Ridle averaged 23.7 points per game, highlighted by back-to-back 40-point performances against the Lake Michigan Admirals on March 20 and the Ohio Lima Express on March 22.

Ridle shot 49 percent from the field and pulled down 4.9 rebounds per game. He also posted 21 steals and was one of two runners-up for the PBL's Defensive Player of the Year Award.

The PBL, which started in 2008, currently has 11 organizations and is based primarily in the eastern and midwestern parts of the country. The league plays its games between January and April.
