Westminster ends season

FULTON - The Westminster Blue Jays wrapped up their season over the weekend by taking one of three games in a series with Spalding.

Westminster won the first game 5-3 on Friday night, but fell 4-1 and 6-5 on Saturday.

In Friday's game, Ryan Loethen (St. Elizabeth High School) had two hits and scored a run for the Blue Jays. Deion Hughes (Helias High School) got the final two outs, both on strikeouts, to pick up his first save of the season.

Hughes took the loss in Saturday's first game. He went the distance in the seven-inning contest, allowing four earned runs on eight hits and a walk. He struck out four to end the season with a record of 8-1.

Westminster ends at 21-14, 15-12 in the St Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
