Missouri gets past Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. - Dylan Kelly came up with a game-winning sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to propel the Missouri Tigers to a 4-3 win against the Auburn Tigers.

Shane Segovia started the inning with a double and later moved to third on a sacrifice by Ryan Howard before coming home.

Auburn got a run in the bottom of the first to open the scoring before Missouri tied it in the second on an RBI single Kelly.

Two runs in the sixth put Auburn up 3-1 before Missouri tied it in the seventh on a two-run double by Logan Pearson. Pearson and Kelly ended up with two hits and two RBI apiece, while Josh Lester added a pair of hits.

Austin Tribby, the third of four Missouri pitchers, got the win. He got the final two outs of the seventh to put himself in line for the victory, allowing just one hit. Keaton Steele pitched the final two innings for his sixth save of the season. He struck out one in two perfect frames.

Missouri is now 12-12 overall and 2-5 in the Southeastern Conference, while Auburn drops to 18-9 and 4-3.

The teams will play the second of their three-game series at 6 p.m. today.
