William Woods earns split

MOBILE, ALA. - MacKenzie Bowden (Jefferson City High School) didn't allow an earned run in seven innings as Williams Woods snapped a three-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory against the University of Mobile on Tuesday.

The Owls fell 7-6 in eight innings in Game 2 of the doubleheader.

Bowden allowed five hits, struck out six and walked one to pick up her 10th win of the season. The senior received the loss in the nightcap after allowing one unearned run on one hit in 2/3 innings.

Hannah Campbell (Russellville High School) had four hits and drove in three runs on the day to pace the Owls at the plate.

Hillary Hentges (Helias High School) was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI, while Lindsey LeCuru (Helias High School) added three hits and an RBI. Shelby LeCuru (Helias High School) also tallied a hit and an RBI to help pace William Woods.

The Owls (17-14) dropped a pair of games to William Carey University on Wednesday. William Woods will take on Bishop State Community College in a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mobile, Ala.
