Linn teen accused in high school thefts

Nearly $2,600 in cash reported missing

A Linn teenager was arrested Friday in connection with the investigation into a series of thefts and burglaries at Linn High School.

Dylan Brown, 17, is charged with second-degree burglary. He is free after posting bond set at $10,000.

In recent months, school officials at Osage County R-2 have reported cash missing from high school administrative offices and from the agriculture building. A total of approximately $2,600 was taken during three incidents.

Brown allegedly told the Osage County Sheriff's Department that he had entered the school with a key.

Sheriff Michael Dixon reports investigators are looking for other "persons of interest" as they continue to pursue the case. Anyone with information about the case can report it anonymously to the sheriff's tips hotline at 573-897-3927.
