Lincoln tennis falls to FHSU

The No. 2 doubles team of Kamaria Braye and Abigail Gober pulled out a victory, but the Blue Tigers fell to Fort Hays State 8-1 on Friday.

Braye and Gober won 8-5, while each of Lincoln's other doubles teams won at least one game. The No. 1 tandem of Alina Katrevich and Ashley Roling fell by an 8-5 decision, while the No. 3 team of Jasmine Daniel and Brittanee Wells lost 8-1.

Gobler, playing in the No. 2 singles slot, fell 6-4, 6-0. Braye, Lincoln's No. 5 player, lost 6-2, 6-2. Katrevich (No. 1) lost 6-1, 6-1 and Roling (No. 3) fell 6-0, 6-1.

Wells (No. 6) dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision, while Daniel (No. 4) lost 6-0, 6-0.

Lincoln dropped to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play. Fort Hays State improved to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the league.

The Blue Tigers will play at Southwest Baptist at 4 p.m. today.
