Incarnate Word Academy wins Class 4 girls title

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Napheesa Collier converted 13 of her 15 shots and scored 33 points to lead Incarnate Word Academy past Dexter 60-43 in the Class 4 girls state championship Saturday.

Dexter's Paige Patterson scored the first basket of the game before Incarnate Word (31-1) answered with the next 13 points. The Red Knights led 28-20 at the break and gradually increased their advantage through the second half.

The win pushed Incarnate Word's record over the past two seasons to 62-1 and gave the team its sixth title in school history, including four in the past five years.

Hannah Noe scored 16 points and Patterson finished with 10 for Dexter (27-4). The Lady Bearcats shot 35.6 percent from the field (16 of 45) while allowing Incarnate Word to shoot 55 percent (22 of 40).
