Tigers sweep UW-Milwaukee

COLUMBIA - A Missouri pitcher set a career mark in a winning effort for the second straight day.

Peter Fairbanks threw a career-high 4 2/3 innings as the Tigers claimed a 4-3 victory against UW-Milwaukee on Wednesday night at Taylor Stadium.

Fairbanks allowed one run, limiting the Panthers to just four hits and struck out a batter to earn his second career win.

The Tigers (11-9) are 7-3 on their 10-game homestand and 8-3 in their last 11 games.

Breckin Williams recorded his second save of the year despite allowing one earned run on two hits in the top of the ninth.

Shane Segovia, Kendall Keeton and Ryan Howard all drove in runs, while Eric Anderson and Dillon Everett each had two hits to lead Missouri at the plate.

The Tigers will travel to Oxford, Miss. this weekend to take on No. 14 Ole Miss in a three-game series, starting Friday at 6 p.m.
