UCM's Loethen a wrestling All-American

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ty Loethen of the University of Central Missouri clinched all-American honors after posting a pair of wins Friday at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships.

Loethen (Helias High School), ranked seventh at 165 pounds, opened the event with an 11-7 win against Matt Addington of Colorado State-Pueblo.

Loethen then fell to third-ranked Jeff Weiss of Indianapolis by a 12-6 score, but bounced back to beat Bradley Metz of Findlay by major decision, winning 12-1.

Loethen will open today's action at the Championships against fourth-ranked Nick Haferkamp of McKendree.
