Mules take four

WARRENSBURG - It took them three days to get two doubleheaders in, but the wait was worth it for the Central Missouri baseball team.

The Mules swept a pair of games with Pittsburg State on Friday, then took another twinbill from the Gorillas on Sunday to improve to 12-7 overall and 9-3 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.

Pittsburg State dropped to 5-10 and 3-8.

On Friday, the Mules started things off with a 6-1 victory. Brad Wilson (Helias High School) had an RBI double in the fourth inning for Central Missouri.

Later in the day, Wilson went 2-for-2 with four RBI, including a two-run home run in the sixth as the Mules won 16-6 in a game shortened to seven innings due to the run rule. He also had a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly.

The series resumed Sunday and the Mules picked up where they left off, winning 8-2. Wilson had a double in the game.

Central Missouri then won the series finale 19-2 in a game shortened to seven innings. Wilson had a two-run homer in the third inning and scored on two other occasions.
