Vicki Bullock, founder and executive director at The Redeem Project, is happy she found a new home for her project, which is in the downstairs of KNLJ Television at 311 Dunklin St.

The Redeem Project will open its doors Wednesday at a new home in the basement of KNLJ-TV at 311 W. Dunklin St.

The agency - previously located in the basement of Calvary Baptist Church - is a faith-based nonprofit that offers information for community resources and collaborates with local churches, agencies, organizations and businesses to serve project participants.

It also offers skills workshops, educational programs, tutoring and support groups free of charge.

"God's timing is perfect," said Vicki Bullock, executive director of the agency. "We needed to start a new chapter. We've not changed what we do, but our clientele is growing."

Due to the move, the agency closed for two weeks and will reopen Wednesday.

"We now have an open area that is a homey and inviting atmosphere," Bullock said.

The agency's relationship with KNLJ has become a partnership.

"We're going to do a lot of things together," Bullock said. "My background is in advertising, and I'm hoping we can lend a hand to KNLJ for their telethon next month."

Throughout the process of deciding to move and when to do it, Bullock has learned that she not only must have patience in God's timing, but she must also not succumb to complacency.

"We shouldn't get comfortable, and should always be continuing our work," she said.

She said individuals involved with The Redeem Project are not only appreciative of KNLJ's generosity, but also the generosity of the community.

"Without the community, we wouldn't be able to do what we do," she said.
