Moseley adds his first Lincoln men's basketball recruit

Kyler Steadman is the first recruit for new Lincoln head basketball coach John Moseley.

Steadman comes to Lincoln from Neosho County Community College and will have two years of eligibility with the Blue Tigers.

"Kyler is an important first piece to what we're looking to add here at Lincoln," Moseley said. "He's the ultimate team player, he's as competitive as they come and the young man is a winner."

A native of Derby, Kan., Steadman played in 32 games last season at guard for the Panthers. He averaged 10.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in helping the team to a 21-11 record.

"Kyler played in one of the best junior-college conferences in the country, and his coaches believed that he could have easily averaged 20 points per game," Moseley said. "Instead, he sacrificed for the good of the team. We are thrilled to add a player like that to our team, and we are excited that he has decided to become a member of the Blue Tiger family."

Steadman joined Neosho County after a one-year stint at Cowley County Community College, where he came off the bench to average 4.1 points. Steadman averaged in double digits in his junior and senior years at Derby High School, including 19.5 points as a senior.
