Area residents hurt in accidents

An Olean woman was injured in a two-car accident at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday on Missouri 87 and Route P in Miller County.

According to the Highway Patrol report a 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora driven eastbound by Lisa A. Compton, 44, Olean, pulled in front of a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina driven northbound by Andrew E. Guess, 24, Eldon. To avoid a collision the Guess vehicle turned left and then both vehicles collided in a ditch. The Guess vehicle then struck a utility pole.

Compton was taken to St. Mary's Health Center.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

• A Camdenton woman was injured in a one-car accident at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday on Old U.S 54 west of U.S. 54, in Camden County.

The patrol reported a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox driven westbound by Brittany J. Stephens, 27, ran off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail.

Stephens refused treatment at the scene.

She was wearing a seat belt.

• An Eldon man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 9 a.m. Wednesday on Ivy Bend Road south of Missouri 135 in Morgan County.

The patrol reported a 2003 Freightliner diesel truck driven southbound by Benjamin W. Porter, 27, traveled too fast around a curve, overturned and slid off the left side of the road .

Porter was taken to Lake Regional Hospital.

It is not known if he was wearing a seat belt.
