Area accidents leave 6 hurt

Three people were involved in a two-vehicle accident at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday on Route MM at the junction of County Road Via Del Lago in Camden County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven westbound by Brian J. Weber, 40, Eldon, was stopped to make a left turn and was struck in the rear by a 2005 Hyundai Elantra, driven westbound by Hailey I. Leighty, 20, Camdenton.

Leighty and Weber refused treatment at the scene. A passenger in the Weber vehicle, Justin R. Duhn, 40, Eldon, sought his own treatment.

Weber and Dunn were wearing seat belts. Leighty was not wearing a seat belt.

• Two men were injured in a three-vehicle accident at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday on Missouri 52, east of Old Marvin Road, in Morgan County.

The patrol reported a 1998 Toyota truck, driven eastbound by Nathan W. Gibson, 26, Barnett, crossed the center line and struck a 1993 Kenworth, driven westbound by Louis H. Kloepel, 72, Meta. The Kloepel vehicle then struck a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven westbound by Matthew R. Dietrick, 28, Kansas City.

Dietrick and a passenger, Brett A. Braun, 31, Lake Ozark, were taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

Gibson was not wearing a seat belt. Kloepel was wearing a seat; it is not known if Dietrick was wearing a seat belt.

• A Stover woman was injured in a one-car accident at 9:30 a.m. Monday on Route C, east of Missouri 52, in Morgan County.

The patrol reported a 1996 Pontiac Grand AM, driven eastbound by William B. Royer, 31, Stover, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a metal culvert, a concrete post and a fence.

A passenger, Tiffany R. Royer, 23, Stover, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Capital Region Medical Center.

William Royer was not wearing a seat belt.
