2 wolves escape captivity in eastern Missouri

ROBERTSVILLE, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities in eastern Missouri's Franklin County are searching for two wolves that escaped from captivity.

Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke says his office was told Monday that the timber wolves escaped from a caged area at a home near Robertsville. The animals were last seen Sunday night. Both weigh between 100 and 150 pounds.

The owner says the wolves are not aggressive, but they may be defensive and he's not sure how they'll act when they become hungry.
