KANSAS CITY - The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Auxiliary team opened the Midwest America Tournament in fine fashion Friday, as Sam Bowles threw a no-hitter in a 12-0 win against the A Gamers.
Bowles struck out five and walked just one in the game shortened to four innings due to the run rule.
Dylan Hoeslcher had a three-run double for the winners, while Logan Vogel and Brett Jaegers both had a single, double and one RBI.
Post 5, which is now 12-5 on the summer, will return to action today in the tournament with a pair of games.
