BONNOTS MILL, Mo. -- Several area fire departments were called around 2:05 a.m. Friday to respond to a report of a building on fire near the Osage River in Osage County.

Because they didn't have a precise address when the call was first dispatched, firefighters had some initial trouble tracking down the location at 1357 County Road 416 near Bonnots Mill. Initial reports indicated a two-story structure was fully involved in flame when the first units arrived around 2:30 a.m.

Firefighters from Chamois, Linn, Westphalia and the Osage Fire Protection District were among those who responded. The fire was reported "under control" at 4:25 a.m.

Correction, posted July 20, 2014: The text above has been amended to indicate that the cabin on fire was adjacent to the Osage River. The original version of this article named the incorrect waterway.
