Missouri women top Mississippi

OXFORD, Miss. - The Missouri women's basketball team earned its first Southeastern Conference victory with an 85-76 win against Mississippi on Thursday night.

Bri Kulas paced four Tigers in double figures with 26 points. Morgan Stock finished with 20 points, while Morgan Eye added 17 and Jordan Frericks chipped in 10 to help lead the Tigers (12-2, 1-0), who shot a season-best 62.5 percent from 3-point range.

Missouri had a 34-30 lead after the first half and controlled the tempo early in the second half. Mississippi (9-6, 0-1) came within four points with 2:07 left, but the Tigers closed out the contest on a 8-2 run to put it away.

Missouri will host Arkansas at 2 p.m. Sunday.
