Tulsa tops Missouri State, 74-70

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - James Woodard scored 26 points - with a career-high six 3-pointers - and Shaquille Harrison knocked down 23 points with seven assists Wednesday night as Tulsa defeated Missouri State 74-70.

Woodard snapped a tie at 58 with a pair of foul shots at 6:33 left but the Golden Hurricane (6-5) never led by more than five the rest of the way with Harrison adding three free throws and Woodard a 3-pointer.

Harrison broke past 20 points for the third straight game, but the combo with Woodard was the first time two Tulsa players scored more than 20 in a game since March 8, 2012.

The effort was needed to hold off the Bears' Marcus Marshall, who went off for a Reynolds Center-record 36 points on 11-of-17 shooting including 7 of 9 3-pointers. He hit a 3-pointer to pull Missouri State (5-5), which has never won at Tulsa, to within 62-61 late.
