Pintos, Comets to meet for Linn Tournament title

After wins Wednesday

LINN, Mo. - Jaden Barr's basket with three second left Wednesday night lifted the California Pintos to a 52-50 win against the Blair Oaks Falcons at the Linn Tournament.

Barr led a balanced California attack with 16 points. Landon Mouse added 12, while Drew Norton totaled 11 and Damon Shaw had 10.

Kory Franks tossed in a game-high 20 points for Blair Oaks. Cody Alexander chipped in with 12.

California led 13-9 after one quarter before Blair Oaks came back to take a 27-21 advantage into halftime. The Falcons led 39-38 after three quarters.

California will play Fatima for the title at 8 p.m. Friday, while Blair Oaks will face Linn for third at 6:30 p.m.

Fatima advanced later Wednesday with a 62-56 victory against Linn.

Nolan Huot had 25 points for Fatima, including five 3-pointers. Jared Schulte added 11 as the Comets hit 11 3-pointers in the game.

Linn led 11-9 after the first quarter before Fatima took a 31-24 lead into intermission. Huot had 20 of Fatima's 22 points in the second quarter.

The Comets were up 46-39 heading into the final period.

Alec Strope and Jacob Voss had 13 points each for the Wildcats, while Blake Snyder and Ben Klebba chipped in with 12 points each.

The fifth-place game at 5 p.m. Friday will pit Cuba against the Jefferson City JV.
