COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders defeated Pilot Grove 60-20 in the Norm Stewart Classic on Saturday afternoon at Columbia College.
Darcy Baird had a double-double for Helias, totaling 15 points and 15 rebounds. Luci Francka also had 15 points for the Lady Crusaders, while Katlyn Cowell added 14. Molly Sandbothe had 11 rebounds for Helias, which had a 54-27 edge on the boards. Molly Light dished out eight assists.
Helias led 13-6 after one quarter and took a 31-13 advantage into halftime. It was 46-17 heading into the final period.
Pilot Grove (2-1) had 20 turnovers in the game to just seven for Helias (2-0), which has allowed just 39 points to its opponents so far this season.
The Lady Crusaders are back in action Thursday at home against the Fatima Lady Comets. The varsity game will start at 6 p.m. in Rackers Fieldhouse, with the junior varsity game to follow around 7:30 p.m. in the Helias Gym.
