The Plaza Tire Service shop at 111 W. Dunklin St. closed at the end of October to merge with the chain's second Jefferson City location at 1401 Missouri Blvd.
Both tire service shops were formerly Ewers Tire and Service locations acquired by Plaza Tire Service in February 2013 along with two locations in Columbia and one in Mexico, Mo.
"With the close proximity of the two stores, we decided to combine the two," said Scott Rhodes of the Plaza Tire Service, Inc., corporate office in Cape Girardeau.
All employees at the Dunklin Street location were offered transfers to the Missouri Boulevard store, he said.
"We're also breaking ground on a new store in Columbia on Grindstone. It should be open in the spring," Rhodes said. "We expect to continue to increase our presence in Mid-Missouri."
The building at 111 W. Dunklin St. is under contract to be sold, Rhodes said.
