Lady Jays volleyball posts win

The Jefferson City volleyball team picked up its first victory of the season, topping Hermann on Thursday at Fleming Fieldhouse.

Mary Vandelicht and Chelsey Klosterman combined for 15 service points for the Lady Jays. Vandelicht and Mary Wehmeyer had eight kills each, while Vandelicht added 12 digs.

Maggie Albert had 16 assists and nine digs for the Lady Jays, who are now 1-3.

In the JV game, Hermann won 12-25, 25-16, 25-23.

Cameryn Campbell had 11 service points for the Lady Jays (2-2) and Olivia Hart had 10. Amber Runkle had two blocks and Tatum Gaines had six kills.

Also Thursday night, Jefferson City's freshmen team defeated St. Joseph's Academy 25-17, 25-15. Baylee Rozier had five aces, Emily Louraine had seven assists, and Emma Gretlein had three blocks for the Lady Jays (3-0).
