Boys Soccer: C.B.C. downs Jays

ST. LOUIS - The Jefferson City Jays opened their soccer season Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to the C.B.C. Cadets.

"It was a better game for us than the score might look," Jays coach Eddie Horn said.

The Cadets led 1-0 at the half on a goal off a deflected shot before getting two scores in the final 40 minutes.

"They were substituting 10 guys at a time and with the heat, they kind of got away from us in the second half," Horn said.

The Jays are back in action Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Hickman. Jefferson City's home opener is Thursday, Sept. 4, against Quincy (Ill.) Notre Dame.

In Saturday's junior varsity game, Jefferson City fell 2-0 to C.B.C.
