Buck-A-Bone break-in nets 5 years probation

A Jefferson City man was placed on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to breaking into a storage locker in April 2012 where items from the Capital City Cook Off Buck-A-Bone raffle were stored.

According to Cole County Sheriff's Department reports, Mark Joseph Bax, 44, Jefferson City broke into a locker at 4923 W. Business 50.

Bax was charged with one count of second-degree burglary.

Bax was identified from a photo lineup by a witness.

Bax was taken into custody at the intersection of Heritage Highway and Propst Road and admitted to taking the items. Bax told deputies they could find the stolen items in the 500 block of Cheyenne Drive.

A 50-gallon tote with shirts and bungees inside was located along with a gas-powered liquid pump and several cases of soda.

A brown cash box containing an unknown amount of money was also taken, but authorities were not able to find it with the other items.
