SANDY, Utah (AP) - Nick Rimando broke the MLS record with his 113th shutout in Real Salt Lake's 3-0 victory over D.C. United on Saturday night.

Rimando broke a tie with Kevin Hartman for the record to help Salt Lake (10-4-9) move into first place in the Western Conference, a point ahead of idle Seattle.

Salt Lake scored twice in the opening minutes and has scored 10 goals this season before the 15-minute mark.

An unmarked Joao Plata scored his 10th goal of the season on a header in the 11th minute. Two minutes later, Javier Morales's cross found the feet of defender Chris Schuler inside the 6-yard box. The pair connected again in the 24th minute, with Schuler heading in Morales' corner kick.

Davy Arnaud's header went inches wide in the 62nd minute for D.C. United (11-7-4).

UNION 2, IMPACT 1

CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Sebastien Le Toux scored two goals and Philadelphia beat Montreal, handing the Impact their seventh straight loss.

Le Toux four goals in his last four games and 10 overall this season Philadelphia (6-8-9).

Montreal (3-14-5) has conceded multiple goals in six consecutive matches and hasn't won since June 29 against Houston.

Le Toux intercepted a defender's header to the goalkeeper in the 12th minute and touched it home to open the scoring. He left-footed a goal in traffic in the 63rd minute, catching goalkeeper Troy Perkins diving the wrong way. Le Toux also had a shot sail just over the crossbar two minutes later.

Montreal's Andres Romero played a ball over the top of Philadelphia's defense and Maxim Tissot redirected it inside the post in the 79th minute.

FC DALLAS 3, RAPIDS 1

FRISCO, Texas (AP) - Matt Hedges scored nine minutes into the game and FC Dallas extended its unbeaten streak to eight games with a victory over Colorado.

Hedges converted a rebound of goalkeeper Clint Irwin's initial save on Walker Zimmerman's header. Two minutes later, Rapids defender Marvell Wynne was called for a penalty in the box, and Michel beat Irwin to the right corner for a 2-0 lead.

Dallas (10-7-6) added to the lead in the 55th minute. A long cross for a header attempt went awry, but Fabian Castillo hammered the loose ball past Irwin.

The Rapids' Gaby Torres drew a penalty in the box in the 86th minute and converted the penalty kick to cap the scoring. Colorado is 8-9-6.

TORONTO FC 3, CREW 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Luke Moore broke a tie in the 84th minute in Toronto FC's victory over Columbus.

Moore's winner came on a header off a corner kick by Collen Warner. It came just three minutes after Columbus (6-8-9) tied it at 2 when Justin Meram's cross confused goalkeeper Joe Bendik.

In the 43rd minute, Gilberto opened the scoring for Toronto, depositing a perfectly placed feed by Moore past goalkeeper Steve Clark with his left foot. Then in second minute of first-half stoppage time, Columbus was awarded a penalty kick and Federico Higuain made no mistake, burying the shot in the lower right corner.

Toronto (9-7-5) broke the tie in the 59th minute. Tony Tchani's original shot was blocked by Clark, but Jonathan Osorio made good on the rebound to make it 2-1.

TIMBERS 2, CHIVAS USA 0

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Diego Valeri scored his fourth goal in four games in the first 10 minutes and Portland went on to beat Chivas USA.

Rodney Wallace also scored in Portland's third victory at home this season. The win gave Portland (7-7-9) a share of fifth place in the Western Conference with 11 matches left.

Chivas (6-11-5), sitting in last place in the West, has lost four straight after a four-game winning streak.
