BATESVILLE, Ark. - The William Woods Owls wrapped up the American Midwest Conference title and No. 1 seed in the conference tournament with a doubleheader sweep Saturday of Lyon College.
William Woods won the opener 2-0 in nine innings before taking the nightcap 8-5.
MacKenzie Bowden went the distance in the opener to get the win, tossing a two-hitter. She walked seven and struck out nine.
Lindsey LeCuru (Helias High School) had two of William Woods' six hits in the opener.
Shelby LeCuru (Helias High School) and Lindsey LeCuru both had two hits in the second game for the winners. Lindsey LeCuru scored two runs. Hannah Campbell (Russellville High School) also scored a run.
William Woods is now 34-15 overall and 20-2 in the conference.
